In our lab, we use a combination of lab and field based experiments to understand species interactions among crop plants, insects and associated microbes.
Our longterm goal is to develop and deploy sustainable pest management strategies with a sound understanding of a underlying plant defense and insect counter defenses
Current research include
Monolignol pathway (brown midrib- SCA/FAW interactions)
Drought X Herbivory interactions
Sequential herbivory and plant physiology
Cold Plasma and Pest management
We are under the Division of Agriculture, Dale Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences.
Study systems: Rice, Sorghum, and Soybean
Herbivores: Fall Army Worm, Soybean looper, Green Peach Aphid, and Sugarcane Aphid
